When choosing a place to eat, most people prefer a clean and safe environment with a friendly atmosphere, where smells of delicious food fill the air, and the bill doesn’t break the bank. That’s precisely what Central Park Family Restaurant has to offer, and this September marks this diner-style restaurant’s fourteenth anniversary!
Proud owners Otto, Anita, and Matthew Ferro and Manager Mario Cientos, would like to thank their staff, regulars, and Tampa Bay community personally for keeping their long-standing “New York Style Diner” afloat during these unprecedented times.
Since it opened, Central Park Family Restaurant started having regulars-those who come to eat twice or more times a week – and almost fourteen years and a global pandemic later, there are more regulars than ever! Despite COVID, the spike in gas prices and groceries, and the unprecedented times we’ve been experiencing since 2020, Central Park Family Restaurant has remained serving the Tampa Bay community by offering great-tasting, freshly prepared food at affordable prices. But it is without a doubt the personal touch of the owners and staff truly keeps people coming back.
“Absolutely awesome! I’ve taken my family here several times for nice family breakfasts on the weekend. The food is top-notch, we always receive good service, and the prices are very fair! Usually, I have to look twice at the bill because I think they forgot to add something, nope, all there, just affordable!” says local food guide Curtis Y. on his recent five-star Google review on Central Park. “It’s a nice clean family-owned restaurant with an atmosphere that feels like home. Highly recommend it to families looking for a nice place to eat. With excellent food and prices this good, tip your waitresses well!”
With over 2,000 five-star online reviews, you have to come to try for yourself what thousands of people are raving about.
“Staff was friendly and helpful, paired nicely with quick food service. Our meals were delicious and just as we ordered,” says Janet P. in her recent five-star Google review. “The apple pie was to die for, and their key lime was smooth and delicious, not too sour and far from artificial tasting. This was our first time since moving here, and it will not be the last.”
Central Park’s regulars love the food as much as they love the owners and the caring staff. You’ll often find members of the Ferro family checking on tables and saying hello to local diners, always ensuring everyone has a beautiful experience.
Even the cooks, servers, and other staff can be considered “regulars” as they have been Central Park family for many years. They even know many customers by name and their favorite “go-to” orders.
The menu is as varied as it is large and includes entrees from many different types of cuisine, including American, Italian, Greek, French, Spanish, and more!
Altogether, Central Park’s menu gives customers ten full pages of delicious options, including all-day breakfast items, freshly prepared entrees, specialty salads, skyscraper sandwiches, half-pound black Angus beef burgers, hot open-faced sandwiches, and so much more. Those on a specific lifestyle diet or with food restrictions can also enjoy a wonderfully healthy meal at Central Park; they offer several low-calorie choices and several gluten-free items.
“Awesome prices, amazing food. The staff is oh so friendly. Honestly, the only complaint I can think of is the fact that the menu is so big and diverse I just would sit for hours trying to pick what I want,” says local guide Tarik O. in his recent review. “Honestly, this place is one of those gems that are unknown till someone tells you about them, and then you instantly become a regular.”
Central Park serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but as your classic NYC diner, it offers breakfast ALL DAY; so if you want fluffy, delectable pancakes, bacon, and eggs for dinner, you’ve got it! The hearty breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and scrambles are belly pleasers, and there are over 65 breakfast options to choose from. I recommend ** the California omelet with fresh avocado and a side of home fries. I also recommend trying the “scrapple,”; a traditional mush of pork combined with cornmeal and flour with spices. Definitely a must-try!
For a limited time during the summer and Tuesdays to Thursdays, enjoy two entrees for $19.99!
Central Park’s Cheesecakes are homemade by the owner Anita, Blue Berry, Chocolate Ganache, Baklava & plane Cheese Cakes are among the favorites, so make sure to leave room for dessert.
The Ferro family wanted to take this opportunity to share some exciting news; Ferro Family Pizzeria (727-807-6044) will be opening its doors within the next few weeks, and just four doors down from Central Park, right on the same plaza. Make sure to show your support for their new adventure.
“You kept us open; thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” says Otto, who, along with Anita and Matt, hope to see you and your loved ones at either or both family restaurants!
