Though she is multilingual, speaking five languages, loves live theatre, painting, drawing art, and cooking, her heart’s fulfillment lies in a different area. Dr. Zineb Mediouni, D.M.D. is passionate about teeth. With a Bachelor’s in chemistry from Bridgewater University in Massachusetts, Dentistry was the initial plan. After working in a dental office during college, Dr. Mediouni fell in love with the transformative work of dentistry.

“I love that dentistry incorporates arts, science, and manual dexterity. I’m a people person, and I love caring for patients. Giving a person a new smile can be life-changing for a person,” she said. “That’s what inspired me to go into the dentistry field.”

She worked in general dentistry for two years, then decided to pursue a specialty in Prosthodontics to learn how to treat more comprehensive cases. In the United States, she graduated with a Doctorate from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, with honors in her Prosthodontics specialty degree and fellowship in aesthetic dentistry.

She founded her first practice in 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts.  She opened her practice, ZM Dental, on North Dale Mabry in 2016. With 188 five-star Google reviews from her patients, it’s easy to see that Dr. Mediouni found her calling.

ZM Dental offers general, implant, and cosmetic dentistry, emergency, TMJ/TMD services, and facial aesthetics. They also provide oral surgery, implants, periodontics, Invisalign, and teeth whitening.

When asked for her favorite patient success story, she responded, “I see them every day. People come in with very loose dentures and cannot chew or smile, and what we do increases their comfort. They come out of the office like a different person because now they have stable teeth in their mouth. They are more confident.”

Dr. Mediouni recalled a patient with worn-out dentures who’d been out of work because he didn’t have the self-esteem to go for a job interview.

“People look at your teeth; how you present yourself is very important. He was missing front teeth. We did a full-mouth reconstruction, and the second he left my chair, his whole personality changed. Even his posture changed. He was so grateful and thankful, and he got a job two days after that,” she said. “That’s why I love what I do. Dental disorders cause a profound impact on patients’ lives and social behaviors affecting their self-esteem. To improve their function is why I am so passionate about what I do every day. I’m so grateful to be in this profession.”

Dr. Mediouni takes her office safety seriously.  Treating teens to geriatric patients, she expertly follows all CDC guidelines to protect her patients and staff during the pandemic. Each patient must complete a Covid information form and have a temperature check outside before entering the practice. The team each wears the recommended N95 masks and face shields, disposable gowns, and hair caps.

“We have UV lights for all of our operating rooms and medical air filters. We’re all vaccinated at the office. We take protecting our patients very seriously.”

Dr. Mediouni said that her practice is different from her competitors because she takes the time to get to know her patients to be able to fix their oral problems.

“I love that we’re a boutique practice. I don’t believe in redoing anything, so every single patient is amazed at the time we take with them. We don’t bounce from chair to chair to chair. I take care of one patient at a time. I focus on quality. Quality is the number one priority. We provide the best care for our patients, so everyone is happy.”
