Concorde Career Institute conducted a grand opening for its new Dental Hygiene program at its Tampa campus, 4202 West Spruce Street, on Sept. 10, 2021. The accelerated Dental Hygiene program will help address regional and statewide dental professional shortages.
During a tour of the dental clinic, visitors saw how Concorde instructors and students will provide oral health care for medically underserved individuals. Visitors learned about Concorde’s training, dental lab and equipment, which will help students prepare for a career as a dental hygienist.
According to a recent survey by the American Dental Association, more than one-third of owner dentists were looking to hire dental hygienists, and about 66% of them said recruiting was extremely challenging as shortages increased due to the pandemic. Concorde offers open enrollment windows every 40 weeks, providing more opportunities for students to enroll in courses and enter an in-demand career as soon as possible.
Enrollment is now open and classwork will begin in November 2021 for the 17-month program.
