For over two decades, CABA’s President-elect Jennifer Jenkins has devoted her career as a Registered Nurse and Health Coach to help others live happier, healthier lives. Now, Jenkins is excited to be the first Certified Health Coach to bring the brand new Healthy Together program to the Tampa Bay area and to be an affiliate of Healthy Weight Partnership, Inc.

Healthy Together is family-based program geared towards children ages 6-13 along with their parent or guardian. It is designed to help the entire family overcome childhood obesity with a program that encompasses behavioral change strategies, nutritional education, and physical activities to help encourage the entire family to become active.

Healthy Together is powered by MEND, a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire children, families, and adults to lead and sustain fitter, healthier and happier lives. MEND stands for Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do It!, and is the largest and most extensively evaluated child weight management program in the world. Thirty-five (35) peer-reviewed publications have documented positive outcomes following MEND programs.

MEND (7-13) is a comprehensive, family-based program that was created to help overweight and obese children ages 7-13  improve their lifestyles, health, and self-esteem. Currently, about one-third of children in the United States, close to 25 million children, are overweight or obese. Children and families who attend the program learn important skills and knowledge to help them manage their weight for the rest of their lives.

Over 30,000 people in five countries have benefited from attending a MEND program, and it continues to expand.

Locally, Jenkins is bringing the Healthy Together program to Carrollwood. She is partnering with the Community Food Pantry which will be hosting the meetings. The Community Food Pantry is a non-profit organization that strives to end hunger by providing food and support services to families and individuals.

Another local partner joining Jenkins is Coach Jennifer George who will be providing the exercise component designed for the entire family.

The 12-week, Healthy Together program will begin on Tuesday, March 3. Meetings will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Community Food Pantry located at 13115 S. Village Drive.

Local businesses are welcome to support the Healthy Together program by sponsoring a family through corporate sponsorship. For more information about sponsorships or the program, visit or contact Jennifer Jenkins at
