It’s not just anywhere where you can find as wonderful sushi and hibachi as Kawa Japanese Steak House & Sushi, which makes the restaurant’s reopening for dine-in that much more exciting! Since Kawa first opened in September 2018, the steakhouse, located off of Little Road, has become a favorite spot for both hibachi fans and sushi lovers alike. Kawa’s owner Jerry, along with the rest of the staff, love having their guests come indoors to enjoy their food, including their fresh fish from places like Japan and Alaska, as well as their high-quality hibachi. After months of being closed and being missed by customers, Kawa officially reopened for indoor dining on October 1st, happily welcoming their guests back to a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment.

While Kawa had remained closed, the restaurant took care of their customers by offering reasonably priced, all-day TOGO hibachi specials, including the meals of steak hibachi, chicken hibachi, and shrimp hibachi. All these delightful entrées came with clear soup, fried rice, and veggies. After I tried the steak hibachi in particular, I found the meat to be top-notch in quality, as Kawa uses Premium Angus Steak meat. Everything tasted great – and to make things even better, Kawa is still offering these delicious TOGO specials every day! While these hibachi specials are awesome for family to-go, there are many more flavorful combinations to try, like the Hibachi Filet Mignon and Salmon and the Hibachi Kawa Deluxe, served with Filet Mignon, Lobster, Shrimp, and Scallop. These entrées also come with clear soup, a House salad and veggies, along with two pieces of shrimp appetizer and fried rice.

While you’re dining in, don’t forget to order some tasty sushi, like the Poke Poke roll, (Jerry’s favorite), or the Touch Down roll, which is deep-fried with crabmeat, cream cheese, shrimp, and avocado, and topped with eel sauce and spicy sauce. Other fun specialty rolls include the signature Kawa roll, the New Port Richey, and the Godzilla, among many more. In addition, Kawa offers a variety of raw and cooked rolls to please like the Tempa Bay with fried red snapper. Of course, if you’re in the mood to share, consider ordering a meal like Sushi for Two, which comes with 18 sushi pieces including the Dragon Roll and the California. There are also vegetarian rolls available, which can be customized to suit all your preferences.

If you’re getting hungry thinking about all these delicious hibachi entrées and sushi rolls, place an order for Kawa through DoorDash and Uber Eats! If you’re looking for some lunchtime options, the restaurant’s lunch specials are available Monday-Friday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and on Saturday from 12 to 2:30 PM. Have a birthday coming up? Come celebrate at Kawa! The steakhouse is currently offering a free Birthday Dinner for the birthday guest with a party of six people or more. This exciting offer lasts for three days before the birthday or on the day-of. You won’t have to worry about being thirsty either, as Kawa offers a full-size bar to keep you satisfied.

From masked employees and hand sanitizers being placed at every table, Jerry and the Kawa team have taken measures to make their guests feel comfortable returning to the steakhouse. The restaurant is also accepting reservations, and with the upcoming holidays, what better way to spend time than with family and friends enjoying some high-quality hibachi and fresh sushi? Whatever the celebration is, or whatever tasty entrée you may order, know that Kawa provides a relaxing, fun, and authentic experience with some of the area’s best in Japanese food!
