Laurie Powell Neiman, CRB, PMN, SFR, is a real estate agent with the RE/MAX Realtec Group. She characterizes her 40+ years in Tampa Bay real estate as a “family business,” where clients often become friends that feel like family. “Serving my clients and making sure they know they are very important is my goal.” Laurie has recently been recognized by RE/MAX with a Career Award in their Hall of Fame: established to acknowledge and salute the exclusive group of top producers.
The Tampa Bay Times recently wrote an article, “Realtors are ‘every 10 feet’ in Florida but more want in the business”; however, Laurie Powell Neiman is a career real estate agent and native of the Greater Tampa Bay Area. She stands out amidst a sea of aspiring agents who practice real estate as a 2nd job, stay-at-home option, or post-retirement “side hustle.”
“Real estate is in my heart and my genes,” said Laurie. Laurie Is a second-generation real estate agent who puts her clients first. She recognizes that each client is an individual with different preferences and different needs. “I spend a lot of time getting to know my clients…from the young couple buying their first home to the older couple looking to downsize; we view every client as unique.” Laurie added, “We live by the Golden Rule of treating others the way we want to be treated.”
Laurie’s mother, Marie Powell, was a real estate agent and owner of Marie Powell & Associates, where Laurie started her career in 1973. “She was a legend,” Laurie said of her mother. “I listened to her talk with her clients over the phone, and her caring matched her knowledge. She took a special interest in everyone she worked with, and she taught me the Golden Rule, so I view my real estate practice as “service”: to my clients, my community, and my profession.
According to her RE/MAX broker, “Laurie’s specialty is listening to her clients carefully, having an impeccable knowledge of the current market and the available listings, and being a comforting hand to guide [clients] throughout each step of the moving process. Serving clients and making sure they know they are very important is Laurie’s goal.”
Laurie serves her clients with the same professionalism and commitment as she does her community and her profession and has received numerous accolades and awards from her peers, including Humanitarian of the Year from the Florida Realtors. In 2019 Laurie was inducted into the International Real Estate Hall of Fame – a lifetime achievement award given by the West Pasco Board of Realtors, where she served as President in 2001. Also, she has served as President of the Greater Clearwater Association of Realtors and President of Hernando Association of Realtors. She was named Realtor of the Year in both 1987 and 2002.
In a recent article in the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Report: Tampa, St. Pete among hottest housing markets in the U.S., Brendan Ward wrote, “Tampa and St. Petersburg had some of the hotter housing markets among the nation’s 100 largest in July…Tampa ranked as the 45th hottest market, while St. Pete ranked as the 53rd — making them the third and fourth hottest markets in Florida, respectively.”
With 47 years of experience, Laurie Powell Neiman has demonstrated expertise working in sellers’ markets and buyers’ markets; recessions and real estate booms; and she agrees that residential real estate is very HOT right now. “Homes are selling within 24 hours, and the inventory is very low.” Laurie was ranked #43 by Real Trends for the state of Florida in transactions closed for last year, and there is no one more qualified or committed to sell your home or find your dream home.
She has served the community through volunteering with her church, helping the Salvation Army (Domestic Violence Shelter), Pinellas Village, Clearwater Women’s Club, Timber Greens Women’s Club, and many more charitable initiatives.
