Proud owners Otto, Anita, and Matthew Ferro, along with manager Mario Cientos, want to welcome you back to their long-standing “New York Style Dinner,” and want to personally thank you for keeping them afloat during these unprecedented times.
“Our regulars kept us alive, no doubt about it,” says Otto Ferro. “Our personal heroes were our hard-working employees and our incredibly supportive customers. We were blessed to have had many families coming in to pick up food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. A lot of them would tip our staff very generously, which made a huge difference for our staff. All of us at Central Park couldn’t be more grateful to the entire Tampa Bay community for their undeniable support during these trying times.”
“Over a year ago, I stumbled upon this fantastic little gem by accident, and my kids and I have claimed it as ‘our place.’ The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is unmatched,” says regular Leah G. “Everyone is so wonderful. The entire restaurant is so clean and inviting…once you go, you will be hooked. You have to check it out!”
Conveniently located on S.R. 54 between Old C.R. 54 and Rowan Rd. and operating at 100 percent capacity, with a “mask optional” requirement for both staff and guests, Central Park Family restaurant welcomes you to enjoy an authentic diner experience with down-home pricing and comfort, while surrounded by happy chatter from a satisfied crowd of loyal, local customers.
Even though most COVID-19 regulations and mandates have been lifted in our State, Central Park Family Restaurant owners and staff continue taking all necessary steps to ensure you and your loved ones enjoy a delicious meal in a clean and sanitized environment which they’ve always provided, even before this pandemic.
Every customer at Central Park is always greeted with a smile and treated with the utmost respect by staff and every Ferro family member who works and runs the day-to-day operations at this cozy family restaurant. You will often see Otto, Anita, and Matt greeting and seating customers, checking on tables, delivering food, and making sure everyone is enjoying their meals.
“Great food and awesome service!” says recent customer Rachal H. “We are from NJ, and if you know NJ, you know it’s known for diners, and this place reminds me of a good NJ diner. This establishment’s menu has a unique twist on nostalgic diner menu items. For example, “The Gotti,” an open-face chicken parm sandwich on texas toast with a pizza burger flare. The food was delicious, and the portions are more than enough, exactly what you expect at a diner. 4 out of our 5 meals came with soup and were $9.29…We all ended up taking home at least half of our meals and eating them the next day, so really, we all got 2 meals. I know we’ll be going back to try other dishes! If you’re in the area, don’t pass this spot up! It is well worth the service, affordable and delicious!”

“My family LOVES this place—very large selection of meals, something for everyone. Pricing is very reasonable,” says Roger B. “We’ve only recently discovered them, but they are now a regular spot that everyone agrees to go to. 5 or 6 trips there and not a bad thing/complaint to be spoken of. The staff is very friendly, and the service is on point. The food is excellent. Give them a shot; it’s worth it.”
Northern favorites include “scrapple” (a traditional mush of pork combined with cornmeal and wheat flour with spices) and grilled sandwiches such as the Central Park Deluxe, made with fresh layers of pastrami and corned beef piled high on grilled, authentic N.Y. Jewish rye, Swiss cheese, spicy mustard, and grilled onions.
Down-home southern favorites include delicious fried chicken and fried green tomatoes, a Mediterranean and Southern fusion.
Greek Dinner specialties include a traditional Gyro platter, chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, and the Pork Chops Athena. If you love mouthwatering gourmet burgers, then you must try “The Skyscraper,” weighing in at over two pounds; it is made with three half-pound Black Angus patties cooked to juicy perfection and topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion – WOW!
If breakfast food is your favorite, you’ve come to the perfect place! Get ready to enjoy fluffy, delectable pancakes, savory french toast, yummy waffles, toasty breakfast sandwiches, and jam-packed omelets at any time of the day.
There are actually over 60 types of omelets featured on the menu! Highlighting a section called “Omelets from Around the World,” which includes options such as the “Royal Hawaiian Omelet” made with pineapple, ham, and cream cheese, and the “New Yorker Omelet” prepared with corned beef, pastrami, onions, and swiss cheese. With so many dishes to choose from, you will have to come as often as Butch does to make sure you don’t miss out on any of their delicious creations.

This new restaurant will be located at the same plaza as Central Park Family Restaurant, and with inauguration plans within the next couple of months, you will definitely want to check it out as well. I may also get to write about it in the future, so stay tuned!
